The Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla conducted various actions against the invading Turkish army in Şırnak, Hakkari, and Iğdır on January 1st. These actions were carried out to salute our people and all circles resisting against fascism. The details of the actions are as following;
- On 00.00 hours on January 1st, our forces carried out multiple actions against the military bases of the invading Turkish army in Şırnak’s Cizre and Silopi districts with new tactics and techniques. Within this scope, our forces have dispatched two bomb-laden aircraft to the Cizre Security Directorate, one to the Cizre Gendarmerie Command House, and one to the Silopi Hacılar Battalion. Our forces have monitored that the targets were reached in these actions. Our forces can confirm that the enemy has suffered deaths and injuries as a result of the actions carried out in all three areas, while the results cannot be clarified.
- Once again, at exactly 00.00 hours, our forces carried out an action against the invading Turkish army positioned on the Koordine Hill in Hakkari’s Çelê (Çukurca) district. The number of dead and wounded soldiers in this action where the enemy’s positions and shelters were targeted could not be determined.
- At 12.00 pm, our forces carried out an action against the invading Turkish army positioned on Korxan Outpost in Iğdır. One tower was completely destroyed and two soldiers were identified killed in this action where the positions and towers in the enemy compound were effectively hit in close range. Following the action, our forces targeted the enemy soldiers which arrived on the scene for intervention. Two soldiers were killed in this unit targeted with heavy fire. The invading forces, having been inflicted heavy blows, carried away dead and wounded soldiers from the area with Sikorsky helicopters supported by attack helicopters.
The Turkish Special War Department tries to hide the results of the actions in Cizre, Silopi, and Iğdır by serving false news to the press. As stated by the pool media, there was no aircraft downed in Cizre and Silopi, and the aircraft reached their targets with full accuracy. Again, in the action of the guerrilla in Iğdır with tactical creativity, in spite of the death of four invading Turkish soldiers, the AKP media tries to distort the results of this action. Our people should not give credence to such unrealistic news that the enemy is trying to spread.
