Press Release
1. Within the scope of the Martyr Bedran Gundikremo and Martyr Nalin Muş revolutionary campaign, our forces carried out actions against the occupying Turkish army in Hakkari's Şemzinan (Şemdinli) and Gever (Yüksekova) districts.
At 07.50, our forces organized an action against the occupying Turkish army soldiers deployed on the Çeman outpost in Şemzînan. The number of dead and wounded soldiers could not be determined in the action where enemy positions were shot. After the action, the occupying forces bombarded the surrounding of Siro hill with mortars.
At 10:00, our forces carried out an action targeting enemy positions on the Bayê hill in the Gever district. The number of dead and wounded enemy soldiers in the action could not be determined.
At 11.20, our YJA Star forces organized an action against the occupying Turkish army positioned on the top of Siser hill in Gever district. The number of dead and wounded enemy soldiers in this action where the enemy's tents, positions and containers were targeted, could not be determined.
2. On August 8, the occupying Turkish army had launched an operation in the Goste area of Hakkari's Şemzinan district. On 15 August 15, at 17.50, our forces organized an action against a unit of the operation positioned on the top of Kurê Mızgeftê hill. In the action, three soldiers were identified killed and three soldiers were injured. After the action, the enemy forces bombed the area with howitzers and mortars, and in the evening hours, the dead and wounded soldiers were removed from the area by helicopters.
3. An individual named Nurettin Altun from the village of Qadyan, who is the leader of operations and has played a role in the martyrdom of our four guerrillas, was warned by our forces. Despite all warnings this individual has continued to cooperate with the occupying forces. On August 15, this individual was punished by our forces in the area of Çemê Axırkê between Merdiwanê and Helişkê villagers of Gever district.
4. On August 15, at 07.00, our guerrillas encountered with the occupying army soldiers near Dêrxust and Sisê villages of Amed's Lice district and entered into conflict with enemy forces. According to the information obtained in the conflict, four enemy soldiers were killed. After the conflict, the occupying Turkish army, who has carried out setdowns on the area, bombarded the area with cobra-type attack helicopters. As a result of the bombardment, a fire broke out in the area. Enemy forces were withdrawn from the area witout any results at 20.00 on the same day. Our guerrilla unit, which entered into conflict, has reached its base areas safely.
5. Within the scope of the Martyr Azad Farqin and Martyr Jinda Özgür revolutionary campaign, on August 15, our forces put under surveillance a disguised unit of the occupying Turkish army near the village of Sureh in the Hizan district of Bitlis. After keeping under surveillance for a while the unit was targeted by our forces at 18.20 hours on the same day. In the action, our guerrillas hit the unit effectively at close range and five soldiers were identified killed. After the action, cobra-type helicopters bombarded the area indiscriminately. As a result of the bombardment a fire broke out and vineyards and gardens of the locals were damaged. Also, village guards fired at the village of Xalepur indiscriminately.
6. On August 15, at 15:30 the warplanes of the occupying Turkish army bombed the Elê village and Cehennem hill in the area of Çiyayêreş in the Zap region of the Medya Defense Zones.
