We send the address of all our hidden writings, written in newspapers and in memories, to the open address.

Our letter may not reach your hands; perhaps they will not deliver it. But I know our letters will always exist like notes cast into the sea inside bottles with tightly sealed mouths. And I believe that you will read them one by one each day.

My Leader, I do not feel much need to introduce myself to you, because I know that you already know me—know us. Yes, as you know, I am one of your young women who took up arms in the Golden Crescent. Those accursed ones who blamed us because you awakened us and gave us sight wanted to curse us; I am one of the toughest ‘APO’ women, becoming their nightmare. And on these sacred lands, our greatest rival is still our weapon. With our weapon, we search across the ground where we lost our treasure. At times it flashes in the sky like lightning. But the darkness is so oppressive and vast that it seems the surroundings will be illuminated only when the whole treasure has been found and we have embraced you. And so, with both hands and from all four directions, we dig the earth, sometimes excavating and sometimes filling it in. Our work is immense… our road is long, and…

Despite all this, of course, the purpose is not to tell you what we have done. You already know all of it. For at times we see your sharp and stern gaze in the sky, and at others your sweet face filled with love. The only thing that protects us is this vision, these very glances. It is your effort and insistence on freedom. Even if black waters, deserts, and mountains lie between us, we are the heart and mind of the same soul.

Because I too am a part of it, I saw your apparition in my dream. What I want most and above all to share with you is this dream and this vision. If only I had reached a secret of life that you did not know and could have told it to you. Concerning you—because you are one of the great philosophers—the only thing I know is that I know nothing. When you show humility, what remains for us is to reach what you know and bring it into being. Therefore, in this letter I will share my dream with you only as a vision and a sign.

I saw a flower in my dream, my Leader. It was a yellow mountain flower. If you called it delicate and cherished, it was delicate; if you called it simple and pure, it was just as simple… It was one of those flowers that had grown amid layers upon layers of concrete. Then it was blessed by delicate, cherished hands, and the flower was sent toward the skies. It gathered the clouds of hope in the sky and took its place in the Golden Crescent. There it rooted again, grew, and brought new tidings. I still did not fully know what tidings the flower carried when I awoke with a smile on my face. Although I lay down again to see the continuation of my dream, sleep did not return to my eyes. The mothers who interpret dreams said it was auspicious. We understood and accepted the saying ‘hope is even more precious than victory’ as a sign. This flower was glad tidings of hope, the sprouting of faith. Until now, no one has been able to distinguish whether this life is a vision and a dream or reality. The dream had come true: a sign of hope had reached our mountains and sparkled in the sky.

Indeed, with that yellow flower, the ‘yellow flower of the mountain’ made our revolution still more colorful and complete and transformed itself into the theory of the ‘Revolution of the Rose.’ Now we are all revolutionaries of the rose, and we have sworn to abolish all the accursed through the rose’s beauty.

That is how it is, my Leader… Here, we do not live a single moment apart from you. We want to reach the truth of meaning. We urgently want to bring ourselves to freedom. We women know very well that only to the extent that we safeguard freedom will we be able to share the same time with you. We can ease the physical pain of being far from you only by working more, by fighting, and by moving toward freedom. Work, work is our only slogan and our way of life. We advance along the path of meaningful work and meaningful living.

In the hope of meeting you in free days, we will be with you in a near time that has not been postponed. I load my longing onto hope.
