Evin Arslan opened her eyes to the world in Colemerg, in a patriotic family bound to its roots.
Because Evin grew up in an environment that had martyrs and guerrilla participation in the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle, from a very young age she grew up listening to the epics of heroic martyrs and guerrillas who rose against oppression and resisted with honor. Growing up by hearing these epics and coming to know the heroic martyrs, Evin developed a rooted Kurdish consciousness at a young age.
Although Evin attended the colonial schools of the state, she never gave up the values she knew to be right. With the consciousness and responsibility given by Kurdish identity, she always saw herself as responsible toward those around her. Evin always approached the rules created by society under the influence of the system and by the state in a questioning way, and she began searching for ways to solve this. As a result of these searches, Evin came to know the PKK more closely and became aware of the attacks and policies the enemy developed against the Kurdish people. Bringing to consciousness the need to struggle against these attacks, she focused on the reality of struggle. Evin, who always voiced these attacks and policies wherever she was, joined the ranks of the PKK in 2013 and showed where the path, method, and address of this lay.
When Evin joined the ranks of Kurdistan Freedom, she took up the weapon and name of her paternal aunt, who was martyred in Geliye Teyare in 2011. For this reason, with the name Nuda Sumbul, as the follower of unfinished dreams and longings, she carried in her hands until her last breath the flag of revenge she had received from the martyrs. After joining the Freedom Movement, Nuda tried to understand and practice Leader Apo's philosophy more closely, and with her stance in life she showed the effort to become an exemplary militant. In comradely relations, one of the most basic values of the guerrilla, she showed great love and commitment and influenced the comrades beside her. Taking Leader Apo's words on the unity of thought, speech, and action as the basis of her work, Nuda displayed an exemplary militant stance in life. For this, in the Zagros and Zap areas where she stayed, she struggled against all the difficulties before her, confronted these difficulties in life, and achieved important results.
Journey to Botan
Guerrilla Nuda dreamed of fighting against genocidal forces in Botan, the dream of every freedom guerrilla. Nuda's purpose in going to the Botan area was to make Leader Apo's ideology on the basis of women's freedom a living reality. For this reason she crossed into the Botan area of which she dreamed. In every area where she stayed in Botan, guerrilla Nuda showed a determined stance for the militant duties that fell to her and for the goal of a free country and free Leadership, the dream of the martyrs. For this, she waged a strong struggle against the difficulties that appeared before her in life, and with this stance she became an example to the comrades beside her. Thanks to the unbreakable bond she formed with the people and terrain of Botan, Nuda approached the values of struggle more deeply. The creativity and labor she showed on the path of becoming a Democratic Modernity Guerrilla became a source of inspiration for her comrades.
The Name of Free Life in Herekol
Guerrilla Nuda, who saw free Leadership and a free country as a whole, deepened herself militarily in the new period's style and tactics of war within the framework of Leader Apo's Democratic Modernity Guerrillaism, just as she had displayed a leading militant stance in life. Guerrilla Nuda, a daughter of Kurdistan whose heart beat for freedom, reached martyrdom on September 18, 2021, in the Navser area of Herekol, together with comrades Kemal and Garzan, in attacks carried out by the Turkish state.
Guerrilla Nuda followed the promise she had given to the martyrs in order to give a revolutionary answer to the attacks the enemy developed against the Kurdish people and freedom fighters by using all the means in its hands. With this stance and determination, and with the exemplary comradeship she showed in Herekol, Nuda wrote her name in golden letters in the history of the freedom struggle and joined the caravan of martyrs.
