TO THE PRESS AND PUBLIC
On 9 July at around 21:30, our guerrilas carried out a road and I.D. check up in order to prevent an operation launched by a contra unit, according to an intelligency information they received.
During a road and I.D. check-up on the the Road of Amed-Lice, 1 noncommissioned officer, 1 special sergent and 1 health care official, whome are the members of the contra troops, have been taken as a prisoner by our guerrillas. These arrested personnel have been carrying out operational activities, applying repression and torture against our people, and they are part of the Contra organisation in Kurdistan. Our guerrillas have had also confiscated 1 PC, 1 pistol and some military documents belongs to these prisoners as well.
Aftermath of this action, the Turkish state army launched a military operation in the areas of Zara, Pesikevir, Mala Gir and Hermiz under the support of cobra type attack helicopters and armoured military vehicles. Also, as a part of the operation there are ambushes carried out as well.
