On December 14, the occupying Turkish army had launched an invasion operation by carrying out set-downs to the territory of South Kurdistan from Hakkari's Şemzînan (Şemdinli) district. Our forces have carried out extensive actions against the invasion operation covering the Tepê Siro, Geliyêreş, Kanireş and Bermizê village areas in South Kurdistan's town of Diana.
On December 25, around 04.30 hours, our forces carried out an action against the invading soldiers positioned on the Mawa hill. The hill where the enemy positioned has been put under intense fire on four arms. Three positions were completely destroyed and seven enemy soldiers were killed in this action where the positions and soldiers on the hill were effectively hit with RPG-7 rocket launcher guns and heavy weapons. The invading soldiers have fled from the hill after these actions.
On the same day, at 06.45, our forces carried out an effective action against enemy soldiers located on the Siro hill. Eight soldiers have been identified killed from the enemy positions put under intense fire.
A total of 15 enemy soldiers have been killed in both actions. After the actions, the occupying Turkish army, around 09.30, carried away dead and wounded soldiers from the area with sikorsy-type helicopters amid the support of cobra-type attack helicopters. The occupying forces which bombed the area with howitzer and mortar shells until the evening hours also bombed the Gelîyê Reş area with warplanes.
