Kurdish National Leader Abdullah Ocalan evaluated the arrangements at Imrali during its meeting with his lawyers last Wednesday. Ocalan explained that although they offer it as a development, but it is only an intensified form of solitary confinement. He explained that “This is worse than the previous place. Although they offer it as a development it is the intensified form of solitary confinement. They want to surrender me here by confining me to a narrower environment and by making my conditions even more difficult. Yes, it is more isolated and worse. It is hard to breathe and I feel so blocked.

"The room I am staying in is 6m and it is half as long as the previous one. The sun burns through the window, and I have to rely on it to be able to breathe, which only burns but I have to endure in order to be able to breathe. The window was better in the previous room in order to see outside and breathe. Now, it is only a skylight and I cannot see outside. In other words, my conditions have deteriorated. The purpose is to deceive the internal public opinion and reduce the pressure of the external public opinion and that of CTP. This is what has to be understood. There are no improvements.”

LET’S NOT LEAVE PEACE TO SPRING

In terms of the investigation carried out he said, “I prepared an 8 pages long defence. They claim that I decided upon war in here. I have made a sociological statement, offered my views. They will defend themselves and offer their own solutions if the issue cannot be resolved. I do not necessarily indicate war as a solution. There may be other solutions. I do not send instructions from here as I do not even have the necessary conditions. I did not order to declare war. The parliament has to take the steps for peace. Let’s not leave peace to spring. Let’s work very hard and achieve peace by spring, not conflict. The issue can be resolved in three months if it is approached in a serious manner.

THE STATE IS ADVOCATING OPENNESS, AKP IS ONLY THE SIGNATORY

Kurdish National Leader Abdullah Ocalan said that AKP is the executor of state policies. According to Ocalan, there is a division of role between AKP, CHP and MHP. AKP is also fulfilling the duty that it was entrusted with. Ocalan explained that the state is advocating openness, AKP is only the signatory. There are certain powers in the state that work through tactics such as TRT-6. They have made the decision and AKP executed it. AKP is being evasive, and not approaching the matter seriously. Creating holdings in Kurdistan, they want to affiliate the Kurds to these holdings and thus to themselves. While Kurds are offered death by CHP and MHP, and trying to convince them to accept malaria with AKP. Such a mentality is unacceptable. Honourable, free Kurds would not accept this. Peace should be declared only if it is going to be honourable and genuine.”

JITEM DIRECTS CHP

Ocalan, explaining that JITEM is directing CHP, evaluated Baykal’s proposal to make Turkish the main identity as a mask. “This Turkish mentality lived in this manner since 1906. This clique is the one that carries out the British policies. Turkism is only a mask. They say that Turkish is the main identity, which will have sub-identities, which is horrible. I characterise this Turkish main identity definition as a black hole. The black hole is an infinite thing that swallows everything. It does not only swallow the other identities but the Turkish identity as well. “

THE CONCEPT OF MAIN IDENTITY IS NOT A PART OF THE CONCEPT OF IDENTITY I HAVE DEVELOP

“Main identity is not a part of the concept of identity that I developed. What I am talking about is the theory of interpenetrated circles. It is a system in which all identities co-exist in peace and without applying any oppression on one another. It implies a condition in which all identities are equal and free in their co-existence. Neither the Turkish identity, nor the Kurdish identity nor any other identity should dominate another. They all should be able to maintain and develop themselves and each other.”

PEOPLE OF DERSIM SHOULD NOT SUPPORT THEIR OWN MURDERERS

Ocalan also called upon the people of Dersim with regards to Oymen’s statements that legitimate the massacre. He said that “Oymen’s views on Dersim are clear. They are themselves feeding a system for centuries that murdered their ancestors. They support their own murderers. It is also themselves, who support the CHP mentality. You cannot understand without knowing your murderers, without analysing them and history itself. The people of Dersim, and the people in general should not support their own murderers. They should not support the CHP mentality. “ Ocalan added that “They are trying to adopt and implement our views. They are trying to destroy PKK through PKK. It is clear that the imitations would not work, while the real owners of the project are apparent.”

AKP ADOPTS MY STATEMENTS AND IMPLEMENTS THEM IN ACCORDANCE WITH ITS OWN INTERESTS

Ocalan explained that for the last seven years AKP is trying to adapt and implement his projects and views. Ocalan, explaining that they are trying to destroy PKK with PKK, continued that “The strategy, which carries out in the Middle East is also mine. Anyhow, AKP adopts my statements here and implements them in accordance with its own interests for the last seven years. They are trying to destroy PKK through PKK. Using my ideas, they are trying to develop diplomacy in the Middle East and the basis of this is the annihilation of PKK, but they cannot achieve this. While we are the real owners of this project, it is apparent that the imitations would not work. The state explains that neither I nor PKK can be a party to their discussions. Anyhow, I, PKK or DTP are not the parties on our own. They all became parties when the conditions are right.”

THEY CANNOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE THROUGH CHEAP METHODS

Ocalan also stated that Turkey cannot annihilate PKK by relying on the south. “Turkey should know that they cannot resolve the issue by using those who leave PKK, or by trying to put us in a difficult situation by using Barzani and Talabani. They cannot annihilate PKK. This issue cannot be resolved through such cheap methods.

THEY ARE TRYING TO INTENSIFY THE INTERNAL COMFLICT THROUGH THE VILLAGE GUARD MASSACRES.

Ocalan said that “We should first achieve to make peace among ourselves. Peace committees can carry out this mission”, and drew attention to the massacre and extrajudicial killings in Kurdistan. “There have been many massacres such as the one in Bilge. It is necessary to be rational about this. A businessman was killed in Mus, as well as some murders that took place in Urfa. I saw twenty murder plans in the newspapers. None of these were a coincident. All these are the plans implemented against social peace, and aim at intensifying internal conflict instead of social peace. The peace council should deal with these problems, which should be able to reach these sections and discuss problems. The state should not interfere with these activities. These activities also coincide with democratic resolution and the understanding of social peace.”

THE PEOPLE OF MAXMUR HAVE THEIR OWN SYSTEM

“Maxmur is a unit of KCK. Maxmur has three red lines; they have their own council, executive authority and defence. It has to be accepted that they cannot change this. They can return as a whole if these issues are discussed and accepted, which has to be decided by them. If the conditions are ready and they decide to return, I would suggest in terms of a settlement that a city can be established at the outskirts of Judi for them to settle.”

KCK ORGANISATION HAS TO BE RECOGNISED

Ocalan stated that the KCK organisation included in the roadmap should be accepted as well: “KCK organisation should be accepted with its four dimensions. The first is the social dimension, of which the subtitle is law. Political and diplomatic dimension: Wherever Kurds live there should be a freedom to carry out democratic activities, as well as freedom of association and co-ordination. Third dimension: Self-defence. This dimension is related to their freedom to maintain their own security. Fourth dimension: Economy. KCK organisation has to be recognised. This is our own understanding of resolution. I’d like to state that any other proposals will not count as resolution.”

RESOLUTION IS CONTINGENT ON 3 STAGES

In terms of the three stages of resolution that he proposed, Ocalan said that: The first stage is the establishment of a commission at the parliament, which can come and listen to me as well. Then, they would be able to make a decision about us, about the resolution of the question. If such a decision is taken, the second stage can be initiated. As to the second stage: the withdrawal of armed forces beyond the borders. Complete ceasefire would take place. The third stage would follow this. With the constitutional and legal arrangements, powers can be enabled to return to the country. No other proposal or view can be acceptable by us as a resolution. The work that I created, which consisted of 160 pages, was not only a roadmap, but also a comprehensive work in relation to resolution. “
