Despite the Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan’s efforts of peace and ours-as the Freedom Movement’s all one-sided sacrifices, the AKP government continues to insist on the destruction and denial policies.
Over the past days, immediately after the Zaman newspaper’s -known to be close to the AKP government- manipulative news aimed at the defamation of our movement, there are new contra activities in the Gever district, a place known for its patriotism and serhildans.
A group that calls itself Mezit started to implement the genocide and the destruction policies in the town of Gever. Gever is also a town where the place is full of police and Turkish army members as if there is a state of emergency. Under these strict control of the officials in the town centre, on the night of the 18 February, cars that have no number plates distributes leaflets and creating a provocation by leaving a bomb in broad daylight in the town center, is just an evidence that there is a contra movement going on by the forces of the dirty war. As the Peoples Defense Forces-HPG we would possible not have any connection whatsoever with the contra group called the Mezit. If anything, this contra movement-the Mezit may be the extension of the AKP's policies of genocide and the creation and application of its provocations.
It is quite clear that the organization by the name of Mezit leaving the bomb at 300 meters to the Security Directorate and the person who left the bomb escaping into the police apartments clearly reveals the forces which carried out this provocative event. And those who carried out this provocative action still not being caught shows that they are protected by the AKP’s ‘good boys’.
The AKP government could not accept the will of the Gever district being 90% boycott as the election result in September 12, 2011 referendum, therefore wants to put into practice the genocide and extermination policies, the most here in this district. The patriotic people of Gever should develop their own defense in its most powerful way against these pressure groups and should not allow them to shelter in their district. Taking action to achieve the AKP's dirty games; the members of the pressure groups and members of Mezit organization should be exposed to the public, the defenses against them should be performed in the most powerful way. Our patriotic people of Gever do have the power, will and the mobilization. In no way, will not allow the AKP’s subcontractors who work to destroy the organization, will take the necessary measures and will further strengthen the organization of self-defense.
