Kurdistan People's Defence Forces

To the Press and Public!

On 27 October, the Turkish state army launched a military operation on the areas of Bilika, Herbol and Cilbiya/Cudi, despite the ceasefire. And, there hasn’t been any clashes occurred.

On 28 October, again an operation launched on the areas of Gire Colya, Hasana and Derike/Cudi, with the armoured military vehicles and cobra type helicopters, where clashes occurred with our forces. During these clashes, we have not lost any of our friends during these clashes. In mean time, our valuable patriots of people of the City of Silopi came to the areas of the military operation in protest of the operation, which is against the conditions of the ceasefire. Thereafter, our people continue their protest in the City centre of Silopi. The AKP Police have cold bloodedly killed a patriotic youth name Salih Yigit, as the police attacked on the civil protestors. First of all, we would like to give our condolences to our valuable martyred’ family, to the patriotic people of the City of Silopi and to all the people of Kurdistan. Salih Yigit is a martyr of our revolution and we will keep his memories alive in our struggle.

On the same, a non-commissioned military officer hit and killed in the City of Amed. And, we carried out an investigation on this killing and we have found that our forces have nothing to do with this incident. In mean time, while both the AKP government and the Turkish media didn’t take into their agenda the cold bloodily killing of a civilian name Salih Yigit by the police, but showed our movement as a responsible in killing of the military officer and accused our people and the political representatives of the Kurds for it.

We condemn this discriminatory and racist attitude which sees deem proper of cold bloodily killing of youth of the Kurds and make no-account of the Kurds as human. And, we call on the democratic public and the Kurdish people to be sensitive and cautious to the distortions of both the AKP government and the circles of the Turkish media.
