TO THE PRESS AND PUBLIC

The military forces of the Turkish state army continues to burn forests in the province of Dersim. Especialy, the burning of the forests in our area became systematic after our decision of Non-Action on 13th of August, 2010.

Together with our one sided decision of Non-Action decision, the Turkish state army using our extraordinary efforts for the development of a peaceful period for bombarding and burning the forests, which are oxygen tanks of humanity, in the area during all destructive military operations that they launch. On the one hand while bombarding the lungs of our country of forests, on the other hand it aims to destroy the cultural fabric and heritage of our country. In mean time, they carry out this systematic crime of humanity as a measure not let guerrillas to be able to live in these areas.

The burning and destruction of the forests, which has been applied at past, is still continuing as a state policy, today. These burning of our forests increased esspecially after AKP governments' interior minister, Besir Atalay, call ''to clean out the area of Amanos'', is most concrete expression which shows that it is a state policy.

We call on our people, the public of Turkey and International public to be sensitive against the policy of the Turkish state of sytematically burning the forests and destroying nature.

We take these state policy of burning the forests as a provocation against our decision of Non-Action period and, this inhumane and degrading acts of approaches will open the pathway of a more of a acts of provocative actions.

We call the environmental organizastions in Turkey, and particularly all the international environmental organizations, to come to Dersim, to see the inhumane policy of crime of the Republic of Turkey against nature of our people.
