Truth is a whole. That is, it is movement according to the essence of being: not deviating from its existence, structuring itself according to this essence, and attaining self-expression.
The language of universal formation is the diversification of differences, and thus the flourishing of essence. For essence to flourish means to become aware of oneself and to attain the meaning of life. The dualities we may list as human-nature, woman-man, and human-society are truths that create and give meaning to one another. They emerge as a requirement of dialectics. Without one, the other has no meaning. Just as the formation of the human cannot be considered outside the process of human formation, neither can it be considered outside society. The adventure of the universe's formation, defined as 'God's desire to be known and seen' or 'the Universe's System of Freedom,' reaches its summit and finds language in the human being. It becomes an inexhaustible source where meanings are produced. This is attaining self-consciousness and socialization.
The principal quality distinguishing humans from other living beings, besides emotional intelligence, is 'analytical intelligence.' The human mind, which attains great flexibility through the magnificent harmony of analytical and emotional intelligence, constructs itself and its sociality. If social constructions are realities built by human hands, they undoubtedly owe this to the harmony of analytical and emotional intelligence, which reached its most developed level in the human being. Thus, the 'Clan,' the most important construction in human history, represents its first form to acquire a soul. What came about with the clan was humanity's first step toward sociality. At precisely this point, the clan becomes the reality expressing the coming to life of the first socialization. Without learning and understanding this woman-led equality of woman and man, the necessity of sociality, and animist thought—and without reaching its moral and political essence—it is impossible to define truth correctly and sustain it. Truth, which is in constant formation, takes shape and is founded upon this essence.
The alliance of the shaman, the old man, and the commander, which developed through interests, constitutes the first example of all the dirty alliances continuing today. This alliance is essentially the greatest blow dealt to the moral-political society woven around woman. It also brings separation from the essence and the dissolution of constructed sociality. Although this trio was an attack and conspiracy by cunning man against the sociality of mother-woman, mother-woman sociality displayed relentless resistance against it. It did not accept, morally or conscientiously, submitting to the conspiracy as it stood and giving up. History has advanced to the present as the struggle of these two lines: the moral-political society of mother-woman and the cunning old man severed from emotional intelligence. The patriarchal system, estranged from its essence and made dominant, transforms the duality that enables formation on a destructive basis and tries to destroy life by fragmenting it through the subject-object distinction. Attacks launched against woman are extended, by the nature of existence, to the whole of human-nature and society, severing life from truth and leaving it breathless. Mythology, religion, philosophy, and science are constantly mobilized to create a new mentality. In mythologies, through the human created from God's excrement and the image of woman brought down from goddesshood to the brothel, humanity was cast from sanctity into accursedness. In religion, the motif of woman created from man's 'crooked rib' was imposed as absolute truth, turning woman into man's 'plowed field.' Through the God-servant relationship, the human being was nullified and reduced to an ant. In the teachings of many philosophers, woman and nature are objects and therefore to be ruled, while man is always the subject. In Cartesian philosophy, differences are in perpetual war on the basis of opposition. Yet nonbeing is the condition of being, death the proof and meaning of life, and darkness a whole that makes light visible and gains meaning on that basis. These were inverted, and through such destructive opposing dualities life was virtually dynamited and truth subjected to slaughter. The capitalist system maintains its existence by depriving the individual and society of memory. These attacks are the removal of the individual and society from themselves and their dispersal. Capitalism therefore signifies not only social death but the death of the individual. From all this, we see that social reality consists of constructed realities. Mentality is the greatest creative force. The democratic system, no less than the capitalist system, is a product of mentality. In the development of historical society, this mentality has evolved to the present as a defense of truth. It found great meaning in Zarathustra's 'Think well, speak truth, act beautifully'; in Socrates' 'Know yourself'; in Hallaj Mansur's 'I am the Truth'; in the personalities of thousands of defenders of truth; and today in the Leadership. The principal war underway today is between the warriors of truth and those who seek to destroy it. On one side are all the sanctities and the legacy of historical society, united and embodied under Leader APO; on the other are all the unmasked gods and naked kings of the hegemonic statist monopoly. If we enter and examine the course of this war, we will make what is happening more visible.
Looking at the reality of today's world, we see this war in all its nakedness. There is a state of crisis and chaos. On one side are so much misery, hunger, destruction, oppression, aggression, immorality, nothingness, and the devastation of nature; on the other, indulgence surpassing the Tales of One Thousand and One Nights, the frenzy of consumption carried out like mad under the philosophy of 'live the moment,' and the culturelessness of entertainment lasting until morning. These are the clearest signs of this paradox. What religion, philosophy, society, heart, or conscience could accept this? In one respect, it is also an indication of the loss of truth. We must remember that wherever truth is slaughtered and lost, the struggle for truth has also existed on the other side. In the development of historical society, many heads like Hallaj Mansur's were severed from their bodies for this cause; those who sought to reach truth at the star of Venus, like Suhrawardi, were flayed alive; some, like Socrates, drank hemlock without hesitation in the field of love; and those who waged the struggle for truth by burning fiercely in the flames, like Bruno, did not refrain from paying the price. Thus, as soon as Leader APO entered the field of truth, the Mazlums followed to attain its mystery and united with love and truth under the maxim 'Resistance is life.' The Four melted themselves little by little for this cause; the Hayris and Kemals reduced themselves to skin and bone, united with truth, and became truth. The Beritans and Zilans who followed became torches of truth to attain this mystery. The war for truth, then, has always existed and always will. As the Leadership says, there are periods when all of history speaks through a single personality. Today this personality has spoken in Leader APO. Despite all their distortions, mechanisms of political pressure, and forces of military coercion, the opponents of truth have failed to affect Leader APO. That is why all global economic powers united, condemned the Leadership to an island, and sought revenge. It is the inferiority complex they experience before the Leadership's truth, luminous and searing like the sun, that makes them want to keep the Leadership far from eyes and hearts. They do not know that the Leadership is a spirit, a heart, and thought; it does not submit to limits. It is the universe, time and space without before or after, near or far. In every formation in nature, it has found its attribute and place in the human being. However much today's opponents distort and veil truth, the Leadership has laid bare every distortion, torn away every curtain one by one, and exposed the unmasked gods and naked kings. Hence their panic.
We too are captivated by the Leadership's truth and are the successors of Mazlum, Kemal, Hayri, Beritan, and Zilan. Our road is the road of truth. We embarked on it knowingly, fearlessly, and courageously. Our quest is to find our own essential reality and our society, to unite with our essential being, and to unite with the Leadership. The road is long and arduous; it requires heart. Minds have turned to desert; hearts have frozen and become crippled. A frozen heart and parched consciousness need the sun that enlightens and warms humanity. The quest is the reality of Leader APO.
Every quest for truth begins first by exposing what is untrue and false. We know from history and the reality of our own struggle that this is not a road everyone can enter, walk, and reach the outcome. As we walk toward truth, we too experience many hardships and suffer wounds. If these wounds and hardships do not shake your faith, and you are a genuine walker of truth, this becomes a great truth within you. Devotion is a state of love. Great devotions produce resolute stances. Great willpower develops on this ground and tempers you like steel. Making this continuous and transforming it into a fundamental personality requires encountering yourself and confronting the other within you. That other tells you realities contrary to you. If the other within has become your state, and your state is that other within, this reality has brought all the possibilities of uniting with truth—your feelings, thoughts, and conduct—under a measure. Even at the earliest ranks in the field of truth, there are signs that the limits of time and space have been transcended. Yes, the first thing the warrior of truth must do is confront and overcome the self. If you are a seeker of truth, you are a lover. If you are a lover, you cannot be purified without burning to ashes. We know from all seekers of truth in history, from Leader APO's İmralı reality, and from the stances of thousands of martyred comrades that love is impossible while preserving one's life.
We know from all those who have passed through the gates of truth that it is the heart that illuminates the road. Those whose hearts do not go before their bodies should not set out on this road or yield to empty whims. Those who depart with a dim and unexcited heart merely exhaust themselves, waste time, and cause it to be wasted. The heart is the source where all meanings are produced. Under all conditions it must be preserved and kept deep and vast like the oceans.
Entering the road and uniting with it is the beginning of the work. If sufficient distance is not covered on time, either the lover's heart has frozen and grown dull and therefore does not see with the eye of the heart, or the lover wishes to walk with the mind. To prevent this, all guides led and showed their disciples the way as they passed through each gate. For us, the Leadership has been truth, guide, and bridge. Therefore, the first thing we must do on this road is direct thought toward truth and incline heart and consciousness toward it. If today we formulate the walk toward truth and becoming one with it, which Middle Eastern philosophy formulated and practiced as four gates and forty stations:
1- The step is to reject what is given. It is directing thought toward truth through criticism and self-criticism. That is, breaking away from the system.
2- The step is the process of creating sensitivity within oneself. (The station of abstention and avoidance.) It is distinguishing false from true, good from evil, beautiful from ugly, and refraining from contact.
3- The step is the station of the self. (Abstinence.) It is withholding oneself from every pleasure, confronting and recognizing one's weaknesses, and entering into a relentless struggle against them.
4- The step is the station of becoming will: turning away from all worldly blessings, meaning surpassing matter and enlarging its capacity; that is, the process of matter being annihilated in meaning.
5- The step is the station of patience: the process of swallowing pain without showing the slightest discontent. It means not stepping back when one derives no pleasure from developments in this process.
6- The step is the station of becoming the perfect human. It is attaining the depth of awareness that the world is created and vanishes at every moment; moving from the human who sees everything to seeing God within everything, attaining truth, becoming oneself, and making this continuous.
It is the process of moving from 'Yours is yours, mine is mine' to 'Yours is yours, and mine is yours too'; then attaining the consciousness and personality of 'Neither yours nor mine exists' and 'Neither you nor I exist'; living and giving life through this, becoming the perfect human, and cooking and maturing from rawness. It is a path to union with truth. From the past to the present, those engaged in works of wisdom and those who reached the station of truth advised those who took this road: 'If you rise and take action, rise with the intention of service. If you speak, speak with wisdom. When you sit, sit with reverence.' The traveler on the road of truth must therefore enter this road knowing these realities.
