To the attention of our people and public opinion!

The People’s Defence Forces (HPG) had adopted the position of inaction since 13 April 2009 on the basis of our leader’s efforts for a solution as well as our movement’s decision to do so.

This democratic process wished to be developed by our leader meant much self-sacrifice on his own behalf. The HPG complied with this decision on the basis of much dedication and determination despite its own losses.

Despite all this, the system of the Republic of Turkey has continued and persisted with its annihilationist policies against our leader, people and movement. As a result violent attacks by the Turkish state has never been off the agenda.

However it is clear that the latest venture of the Turkish Republic was to try and camouflage all such policies of annihilation with a new depiction; Democratic ‘opening’. However all these fraudulent schemes by the international forces, who were also responsible for the conspiracy in 1999, have been exposed and invalidated because of the efforts and sacrifices made by our leader as well as the resistance shown by our movement. We shall continue to invalidate all such vicious plans through such resistance and struggle.

Throughout the year miltiary operations that have targeted the annihilation of our guerrillas have also continued at an increasing rate. Moreover, our peple have been subjected massacres and attacks several times. There has also been an increase in attacks to intimidate the democratic establishments and institutions. While the Kurdish women, youth, other sections of the society and even children have been put under severe attacks the geography of Kurdistan and its nature have also been subjected to the policy of destruction. Finally, our leader APO too has been increasingly subjected to aggrevated conditions. It is not a coincidence that all these attacks coincide with the increasing number of annihilationist military opertaions. These are the signals of an overall plan targeting our leader, people and movement.

Indeed the annihilationist attacks perpetrated by the Turkish army in the last few months proves that this plan has reached an important stage from a military perspective. However it has also already been revealed that all such plans and attacks shall be shattered by the guerrillas and once again such dreams of elimination shall fail.

In the first 4 months of 2010 there has been 22 operation against the guerrillas aiming annihilation. In 13 of these operations clashes have occured. There has been aerial attacks in all the operations targeting the Northern provinces. In the first four months of 2010 there has been 86 canon-fire attacks which have damaged many civilian settlements and resulted in the death of many animals.

In the first four months of 2010, as far as can be clearified, there has been 22 enemy combatants have been eliminated by the guerrilla forces and a total of 10 of our friends have been martyred as a result of Turkish Republic’s Army attacks.
